Buford man files for Gwinnett commission seat
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Buford Republican Tommy Hunter has announced he will run for the District 4 seat on the Gwinnett County Commission. Hunter, a civil engineer, joins fellow Republican and former state House Rep. John Heard vying for the seat being vacated in 2010 by Kevin Kenerly.
At a gathering of supporters earlier this week, Hunter said he plans to make public safety his priority.
"Most importantly, I will work tirelessly to regain the publics' trust in its elected representatives,” he said.
Hunter worked for Gwinnett County as a senior construction manager for the Departments of Water Resources and Department of Transportation. He served over four years as a member of the Gwinnett County Water and Sewerage Authority, serving as secretary in 2008.
