Map: Proposed Georgia Congressional boundaries (updated)

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

UPDATED: The Georgia House has completed its work for the special legislative session by approving new maps Thursday for the state's congressional districts, but House members must stick around until the Senate catches up. The House voted 110-60 to send the Senate the plan for creating 14 seats in the U.S. House.

On Monday, Aug. 22, Georgia's Republican leadership in the General Assembly released its congressional redistricting plan. Every district in the state must be redrawn every 10 years following the Census to reflect shifting population. Both state houses have yet to vote on the proposed changes.

The map below shows the new proposed boundaries. Each district is color-coded to reflect whether it leans Republican or Democrat. Click on each district for more information about its makeup.

Red: Leans Republican

Blue: Leans Democrat
