Bill would make bars, restaurants subject to fines for fights
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Legislation would make bar and restaurant owners subject to fines of $2,500 if three sexual assaults or violent acts involving knives or guns occurred within 90 days of each other in or near their establishments.
Election 2012: Across the nation
Senate Bill 45, proposed by Sen. Robert Brown, D-Macon, and co-sponsored by Sen. Cecil Staton, R-Macon, says that a fourth act within the 90-day period would bring an additional $2,500 fine. An incident such as a robbery of the establishment would not count toward the total.
