GBI, FBI probing conduct of Cochran police
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says it and the FBI are investigating allegations of misconduct involving Cochran police officers.
Cochran Mayor Gene Towns says he's unable to comment on the probe except to say that no officers have been arrested or suspended.
The GBI says the allegations stem from a 2008 investigation of two former Cochran police officers who were working as part-time officers in Pineview. The officers were charged with enticing a child and interfering with custody.
One of the officers was convicted of violation of oath of office and sentenced to five years on probation. The other officer's case is still being adjudicated.
