Ga. pushing daycare workers to get more training
Associated Press
The state Department of Early Care and Learning is using federal stimulus money to encourage daycare and preschool workers to get more training in early childhood education.
The state will pay for 3,400 workers to earn their child development association credential or higher between now and February 2011. Each person who enrolls will get $1,200.
Commissioner Holly A. Robinson says the program will help increase the quality of workers who take care of more than 700,000 children in the state each day.
