Freeze watch set for Sunday night

The high temperature is only going to reach the mid-50s on Sunday. Despite the chill,  it will be sunny, according to meterologist Barry Gooden with the National Weather Service.

Sunday night will be downright cold. That's when most of north and central Georgia will be under a freeze watch Sunday night.

“This weekend’s highs are normally our average lows,” said meterologist Jessica Fieux.

Monday morning, it is expected to be in the mid-30s, and could be even colder in outlying areas, Gooden said.

Temperatures should reach the middle 60s as it warms up Monday to a more typical forecast for this time of year.

The next chance of rain comes Thursday night.
