Cumming couple arrested in violent home invasion
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A Cumming man and woman face armed robbery and aggravated assault charges in the home invasion of a Forsyth County home Halloween morning, police said.
Sean M. Kinney, 27, and Jodie Marie Davis, 22, are both being held without bond at the Forsyth County Detention Center.
In a press release, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said the couple busted down the door of a Barbara Lane home at 1 a.m. Monday, beat up the homeowner and left with a large amount of cash.
Kinney and Davis allegedly tied up David L. Geary, placed a plastic bag over his head and physically assaulted him until he revealed the location of an undisclosed amount of money.
Geary was able to free himself after Kinney and Davis left and was transported to North Fulton Hospital where he was treated and later released, police said.
Lt. Col. Gene Moss with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said Geary identified his attackers.
Kinney and Davis were located around 5 p.m. Monday at a business near Tucker. Moss said the two were "planning to leave the area."
“We also recovered a considerable amount of cash from them,” said Moss. A large quantity of prescription drugs and marijuana were also found. It is not believed the drugs were taken from the Geary residence, however.
Geary was taken into custody by Sandy Springs police for an outstanding burglary warrant.
