For the AJC

Early voting in Fulton and DeKalb counties begins Wednesday for the Dec. 1 runoff elections.

The mayoral races of Atlanta, East Point, Roswell, Clarkston and Stone Mountain will be decided, in addition to several council posts.

Mail-in, or absentee ballots will be sent out to people who request them from the Secretary of State's office.

People who were registered to vote by Oct. 5 – the same deadline that applied for the Nov. 3 general election – can vote in the Dec. 1 runoff. Even if you didn’t vote in the general election, you can vote in the runoff.

If your voter registration wasn’t postmarked by Oct. 5, you cannot vote in the runoff.
