White House wants job ideas from DeKalb
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The White House wants to hear DeKalb County residents’ ideas on how to create jobs, a county spokeswoman said.
Business and community leaders will gather Friday to discuss ways to create jobs in the county.
Ideas and questions will be forwarded to the White House to be included in the national Jobs Creation Report, according to a spokeswoman for DeKalb CEO Burrell Ellis.
The community jobs forum will include representatives from the Georgia Department of Labor, along with the county’s economic development, workforce development and neighborhood empowerment offices.
About 10.2 percent of Georgians are out of work, according to the state labor department.
The forum is scheduled for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at the Maloof Auditorium in Decatur.
