Redan bridge to be closed for up to a year
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Redan Road bridge is expected to be closed for at least six months or as much as a year to repair flood damage from the September rains.
The bridge over Barbashela Creek in the Stone Mountain area will be replaced by Georgia Department of Transportation using an estimated $1 million in federal funds.
The bridge, between Redan High School and South Hairston Road, has been closed since September 20.
GDOT expects to award bids within the next month so work can begin as soon as possible on the span.
