Melanie Hammet, the singing city councilwoman from Pine Lake, will hold a release party April 10 for “Edifice Complex and Other Urban Plans,” a new CD that explores the human side of land use planning.

Hammet, a professional musician with other recordings to her name, said the music “explores our disjointed and disconnected relationship with land-use, the pre-eminence of the automobile and community relationships.”

She has served since 2005 on the council for Pine Lake, town of about 650 people in DeKalb County. She plans to perform all the songs on the CD at the release party at 8 p.m. at the Pine Lake clubhouse, 300 Clubhouse Drive.

Tickets are $10 at the door or $17 in advance, which includes a CD. Tickets can be purchased online at www.melaniehammet.com or www.edificecomplex.net.
