A group trying to stop Walmart from opening in a North Decatur shopping center will host a community forum on its plans this week.

An attorney will present the legal options facing Good Growth DeKalb and a representative fighting the retail giant in Athens will also attend the forum.

The event begins at 7 p.m. Thursday at North Decatur Presbyterian Church on Medlock Road.

Developer Selig Enterprises announced last year its planned redevelopment of aging Suburban Plaza on North Decatur Road would be anchored by a Walmart supercenter.
