One suspect arrested after Dunwoody McDonald's hold-up
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
One suspect was arrested late Tuesday night after a fast food restaurant hold-up that police said might be connected to a similar incident at another restaurant a night earlier.
Two masked men attempted to rob the McDonald's on Chamblee Dunwoody Road at I-285 about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Dunwoody police Det. Kelly Gobely.
She said a witness called 911, and, "luckily, we had officers across the street who heard the dispatch."
Gobely said the gunmen were "walking the manager through the store, they turned around and saw one of our units, and headed out the back door."
Officers gave chase as the suspects jumped a fence, went down an embankment and crossed I-285, Gobely said.
Once across the interstate, "they jumped back over the fence and disappeared," she said.
Officers brought in a K-9 unit, and one of the suspects was located in the woods and arrested, Gobely said. The other man got away and remains at large.
She said the gunman being sought is a blackĀ male, 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 175 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a blue "Dickies" jumpsuit and was carrying a revolver, she said.
Gobely said detectives were trying to determine whether the suspects were the same two men who held up a Chamblee Dunwoody Road Burger King about the same time Monday night.
In that incident, two armed men, also wearing ski masks, robbed the restaurant manager at closing time.
No injuries were reported in either robbery.
