The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

More than 1,300 students in DeKalb requested transfers from 22 schools that didn't make "adequate yearly performance" under the federal "No Child Left Behind" act. The law allows students from underperforming schools to move. Officials told the Board of Education Monday night that  they worked straight through the weekend trying to accomodate all of the requests, but not all transfers had been completed yet. They ask that parents send their children to their originally designated schools until the transfers have been confirmed.
