The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Rosette Chakkalakal, a chief medical resident at Emory University Hospital, has been selected as a fellow to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program. Chakkalakal is among 29 physicians chosen for the two-year fellowship program, which is open to applicants enrolled in medical and surgical residencies in the United States.
The 2010-2012 fellows will conduct research and work with communities, organizations, practitioners and policy makers on health issues.
Chakkalakal will spend two years at Yale University examining the delivery, impact and organization of health care. She received her medical degree from the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami and completed her residency training in internal medicine in the primary care track at Emory University School of Medicine.
Another scholar with Atlanta ties is Anand Shah, who did his undergraduate work at Emory University. He completed his residency at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
