Police have identified a 37-year-old man who they say jumped from a third-floor apartment just before SWAT officers arrived.

An overnight police standoff at the Two Blocks Apartment complex in Dunwoody ended shortly before daybreak Monday when SWAT officers entered an apartment to find that the suspect had apparently jumped out a third-story window.

Dunwoody police Sgt. Mike Carlson said officers were still looking Monday afternoon for Earnest Dennis.

Carlson told the AJC officers were sent late Sunday afternoon to Two Blocks apartment complex in the 4000 block of Dunwoody Park after receiving a "domestic violence" report. The first officer there saw Dennis go into an apartment.

But Dennis refused to talk to the officer, so nearby units were evacuated and the SWAT unit was called.

Three hours later,  the SWAT team entered the apartment, finding that the door had been barricaded, but no one was inside.

"Apparently, he did jump from the third floor," Carlson said.

He said Dennis may have been hurt when he jumped.

He is described as 5-foot-9 and weighing 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white T-Shirt and lime green shorts. He has a tattoo of a panther on his left arm, and the initials “M.O.B.” are above the tattoo and “Mugsy” is below it.
