DeKalb County reported more than 15,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into local waterways over the past four days.

DeKalb watershed management reports show 7,680 gallons spilled on West Mountain Street in Stone Mountain on Monday. On Sunday, 660 gallons spilled on Dalewood Drive in Atlanta.

On Saturday, 5,625 gallons spilled on Emerald Springs Drive in Decatur and 1,420 gallons on Briarglade Way in Atlanta.

Last week, the county commission approved $1.35 billion in water and sewer upgrades after the federal Environmental Protection Agency issued a consent decree mandating improvements. The EPA also fined DeKalb because the county reported more than 800 raw sewage spills in the last five years.
