DeKalb History Center hosts local Black History celebration

The DeKalb History Center will honor law and justice leaders later this month, as part of its third annual Black History Month Celebration.

The presentation will honor Sheriff Thomas Brown as well as judges Gregory Adams, Barbara Mobley and Desiree Sutton Peagler. DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis will do the welcoming, and the master of ceremonies will be state Attorney General Thurbert Baker.

The event also features a special presentation honoring the Rev. Thomas Bristow, documented as an original Tuskegee Airman.

The program runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Old Courthouse in the Square in Decatur.
