Author James Carroll to lecture at Emory

Author and Boston Globe columnist James Carroll will give four free public lectures at Emory University.
Carroll, the McDonald Family Chair for the Study of Jesus and Culture at Emory’s Candler School of Theology, Each lecture deals with an aspect of Jesus’ life and explores how the fundamentals of Christian belief in Jesus are challenged by history and criticism. He is the author of “Constantine’s Sword,” and “Jerusalem, Jerusalem.” The lectures will be held Aug. 29, Sept. 26, Oct. 24 and Nov. 14 .
Each lecture begins at 7 p.m. in Glenn Memorial Auditorium, 1652 N. Decatur Road. Register at www.candler.emory.edu/calendar. Navigate to the date of the event and click “Sign Up.”
The day after each lecture, there will be a lunchtime conversation led by Carroll. Those small group discussions are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Miller-Ward Alumni House, 815 Houston Mill Road. Cost is $30 for each luncheon or $100 for all four. Registration is required and seating is limited.
