Woman pistol-whipped trying to buy car in Cobb

Police say they don't have any leads on potential suspects.

Authorities are investigating after a woman trying to buy a car was hit in the head with a semi-automatic gun and robbed.

The victim told Channel 2 Action News she is so shaken up she is planning to move out of state.

According to police, the woman agreed to meet the seller Saturday at a friend’s Governors Court house near Marietta.

Instead, a man forced his way in the home, pointed the gun to woman’s head, pistol-whipped her and robbed her, police said.

Two accomplices walked in and later escaped in a getaway car with the woman’s cash, credit cards, IDs and car keys, Channel 2 reported.

The woman was taken to a local hospital with a “goose egg on the back of her head,” according to the news station.

The woman asked not to be identified, but sent a text message to Channel 2.

In the message, she wrote: “These people were very dangerous ... they would not hesitate to come back and finish the job. I’m selling my house and moving out of Georgia. I no longer feel safe.”
