Three men have been indicted in the alleged armed robbery of a Dunbar Armored Inc. courier in southeast Atlanta, according to police.

Two Atlanta men — Artaigous Norwood, 43, and Joquize Norwood, 21 — were charged with stealing about $190,000 from the armored car service on Lakewood Avenue in May.

The courier had just finished delivering cash to an area business. As he exited the vehicle, two men approached him with their guns drawn, according to a news release. One defendant allegedly snatched the courier’s bag of cash and took his firearm, police said.

Cellphone evidence and video surveillance showed a third man, Detravius Brown, acted as lookout during the robbery. The 22-year-old Mableton native was charged with possessing a firearm.

Shortly after the incident, the FBI offered a $20,000 reward for anyone who was able to find the men.

“The brazen nature of this armed robbery created an extraordinarily dangerous situation,” U.S. Attorney John Horn said in a statement. “The indictment alleges that these defendants, with their guns drawn, put the lives of the victim, other innocent bystanders, and their own, at risk.”

The men were arraigned July 21 in magistrate court after being indicted by a federal grand jury July 12.

The FBI and Atlanta Police Department are investigating the case.
