$2K reward offered after Atlanta councilman, candidate robbed

A local advocacy group is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who robbed Atlanta City Councilman C.T. Martin and council candidate Andrea Boone at gunpoint.

The United Youth-Adult Conference announced the reward Tuesday.

The robbery happened as Martin and Boone were leaving Boone’s campaign headquarters about 9:44 p.m. Saturday on Lynhurst Drive.

A man approached them and demanded money as well as their car keys, Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Martin and Boone handed over personal belongings, cash, credit cards and their keys, and the gunman drove away in a rented 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, Campos said.

He was reportedly wearing a light gray hoodie and carrying a large gun with a red light, authorities said.

He is described as 6-foot-1 and between 19 and 22 years old.
