Atlanta police said suspected marijuana was found inside the luggage of four men traveling from Las Vegas to Atlanta last week.

Four men were arrested after flying into Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport with 224 pounds of marijuana, Atlanta police said.

Investigators received a tip that “suspected drug traffickers” from Las Vegas would be arriving Feb. 1, according to police spokeswoman Officer Lisa Bender.

“Once the flight landed in Atlanta, officers were able to identify the luggage that was checked by the suspects,” she said.

The four were detained without incident as they were leaving the plane and gave their consent for Atlanta police to open up the bags, according to police.

“K-9 units did alert to the presence of drugs inside all luggage belonging to the suspects,” Bender said.

In addition to the 224 pounds of marijuana, officers seized nearly $8,000 in cash.

Chad Ellis, 23, Jemonta Kilgore, 24, Labrinsan Culpepper, 25, and Rakeem Bland, 24, were arrested on charges of trafficking marijuana.

All were being held Thursday in the Clayton County Jail without bond.

“This investigation is ongoing, and charges may be updated,” Bender said.
