Two men have been identified as suspects in a recent shooting at a QuikTrip in Chamblee.
Leroy Copney and Jilani Bakhari are believed to be involved with the shooting death of 30-year-old Andrew Spencer, Chamblee police spokesman Capt. Ernesto Ford said.
Police said the men sped away in a Maserati from the QT in the 4000 block of Buford Highway just before 3:25 a.m. Thursday. Both have been charged with murder, aggravated assault and violation of the Georgia Gang Act.
Spencer was shot and killed after an apparent argument over hot dog buns, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.
Police recovered the Maserati believed to have been used by Bakhari and Copney. The men are considered armed and dangerous.
Quintin Heard, a friend of Spencer’s, called the act "senseless.”
Heard and Spencer were coming from Follies strip club when they decided to stop at the convenience store.
“And the next thing I know, he just pulled a gun out, and then he just started shooting,” Heard said.
Heard ran back to their car and later found his friend lying on his stomach. He turned him over and found he was shot in the chest, barely breathing.
“And I held him in my arms until he took his last breath,” Heard said.
