Gwinnett police are trying to find a man who assaulted a clerk and stole multiple unopened packs of Georgia Lottery scratch-off tickets from a gas station in unincorporated Snellville.

The robber walked into an Exxon gas station in the 2100 block of Killian Hill Road Nov. 16, placed a black semi-automatic handgun to the employee’s head and demanded he open the registers, Cpl. Michele Pihera said.

The robber then pistol-whipped the employee multiple times in the back of his head even though he complied with the man’s demands, he told police.

The robber got away with the lottery tickets, cigarettes and several thousand dollars, police said.

He carried a brown crossbody bag, and was dressed in a tan coat, a gray and black hoodie, black gloves, dark blue pants and black shoes, Pihera said.

Authorities provided Georgia Lottery investigators with the stolen pack numbers, and lottery officials gave police several locations where the tickets were cashed.

Some cashed the tickets the same day as the robbery, according to police.
