2 armed men rob pizza delivery driver, steal driver’s car, police say

This is a picture of a man believed to be one of the two suspect in an armed robbery that took place Monday night, Acworth police said.

Police are searching for two men who allegedly robbed a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint and stole the driver’s belongings and car late Monday night in Cobb County.

A little after 11:15 p.m., Acworth police responded to an armed robbery at the Super 8 Motel at in the 4900 block of Cowan Road, the department said in a Facebook post.

The two robbers allegedly forced the delivery driver to his knees at gunpoint before stealing his keys, cell phone, $18, the pizza and his 2015 Hyundai Sante Fe, police said.

The alleged victim described the two armed robbers as men about 20 to 25 years old, between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-1 and thinly built,according to the post.

The stolen vehicle was recovered around the Grove Park subdivision Tuesday, the authorities said. Police said they came in contact with the two men believed to be the suspects walking nearby, but when the officer approached, they ran away.

Aerial assistance from Georgia State Patrol and officers searching on foot were not able to located them.
