The man who allegedly robbed a Family Dollar store on Jimmy Carter Boulevard earlier this month may have been in the store two days before and talked with employees, Gwinnett County police said.

About 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 11, the man came out of the restroom with a knife and told two employees who were preparing to close the store to get on the ground, Cpl. Deon Washington said. The man made one of the employees open the store’s safe, and he left with more than $2,500 in cash.

On Nov. 9, a man wearing the same clothes and with the same build came into the store and asked about the closing time, Washington said. Employees think the same man robbed the store.

Surveillance photos from both dates appear to show the same person, Washington said. The man police are seeking was wearing a gray jacket with a red bandana in the photo taken on the date of the robbery.
