The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Drivers, be on your best behavior Thursday.

The Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety will launch another all-day speed enforcement crackdown on Atlanta highways Thursday.

Metro Atlanta police departments and Georgia State Patrol will run concentrated patrols on I-285, I-85, I-75 and I-20 Thursday.

They’ll be on the lookout out for drivers speeding, tailgating, driving aggressively and ignoring the “Move-Over Law,” which requires motorists to move over one lane, if possible, when an emergency vehicle is working on the side of the road.

The crackdown includes traffic enforcement units from DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Cobb, Fayette, Clayton and Henry Counties.

The crackdown is one of several during Georgia’s “100 Days of Summer HEAT” campaign, which aims to reduce the number of fatal accidents during the summer holiday.
