The Falcons signed defensive end Kroy Biermann, the team's fifth-round draft selection, to a four-year contract Thursday.

Biermann, 6-foot-3, 241 pounds, played in 52 career games at the University of Montana and totaled 220 tackles and 32 sacks. He was named the 2007 Big Sky Conference Defensive MVP his senior season.

Biermann is the eighth of the team's 11 draft picks to be signed.
