Bliss Atlanta
188 14th St. at the W Midtown (lower level)
404-685-3510
This New York-based spa founded in 1996 started something of a revolution by making going to a spa fun instead of stuffy. Trademarks include sky blue walls with clouds and “grass” tile floors. Bliss products, sold in spas, department stores and by mail, often go hand in hand with in-spa treatments, such as the new anti-aging “youth as we know it” facial ($185) and tire tackling “love handler” massage ($130), each of which has corresponding products to use at home.
> Amenities: Personal steam showers, sauna, digital lockers and heated shaving cream in men’s locker room
> Don’t miss: New 60-minute “pedi” colada, $70, for summer.
> Hours: 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Mondays-Sundays
29 Spa
3376 Peachtree Road at the Mansion on Peachtree
404-995-7526
Winemaker Lydia Mondavi is at the helm of what is currently the only 29 Spa in the country. The Atlanta native created the space specifically with Atlantans in mind. Every treatment at the ultra luxurious spa leverages the antioxidant properties of grape seeds or grape seed extract to fight the free radicals and pollutants that damage and age skin. Innovative services include a waterless mani ($45) and pedi ($65) using exfoliating grape seed crush with a moisturizing rose and grape seed mask.
> Amenities: Relaxation terrace, silk satin robes, microfiber sandals, heated water beds and personalized iPod selections
> Don’t miss: A Mondavi favorite “Trellis the Tresses,” a $125 scalp massage and treatment with warm grape seed and olive oils and herbs.
> Hours: 8 a.m.-9 p.m., Mondays-Sundays
O Aesthetics Anti-Aging and Laser Center
1675 Cumberland Parkway, Ste. 407, Ivy Walk at Vinings, Smyrna
770-863-9543
A visit starts with a VISIA digital complexion analysis that shows damage undetectable to the eye. Clients receive feedback on skin and leave with product recommendations for skin care. Medical Director Okiki Louis, a former ER doctor, wants women to focus on the whole self, so while the center offers a range of medical treatments including injectables and laser services, there are also weight-loss solutions ranging from nutritional counseling to the newly offered VelaShape, a nonsurgical cellulite treatment.
> Amenities: Plush robes and fluffy slippers for client use
> Don’t miss: The new “Ultimate O,” $315, leaves skin glowing. This natural route to hydrated skin uses hyperbaric oxygen infusion treatments to deliver doses of hyaluronic acid and antioxidants deep into skin. Treatment includes an anti-aging caviar mask and mini facial from skilled aesthetician N’dine Drame.
> Hours: 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays; 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Wednesdays and Fridays; 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturdays; closed Sundays and Mondays.
