Auburn student killed in tractor accident

AUBURN, Ala. — A 23-year-old Auburn University student died after a tractor he was riding on a golf course went over an embankment.

Lee County Deputy Coroner Charlotte Patterson said Trenton Carlos McLeod of Prattville, Ala., was at Moore’s Mill Club early Sunday morning when the accident happened. Patterson said McLeod was airlifted to The Medical Center in Columbus where he was taken off life support Sunday evening and was pronounced dead at 7:09 p.m.

Patterson said McLeod worked in maintenance at Moore’s Mill Club. She said he was pulling a blower when he went over an embankment.

She said the cause of death was blunt head trauma. She said the accident remains under investigation.
