AUBURN, Ala. — Authorities say 19-year-old Hunter Lane Keel of Blue Ridge, Ga., an Auburn University student, has died in a pickup truck crash in Lee County, Ala.

Lee County Coroner Bill Harris says Keel was driving east on Lee Road 66 around 4 a.m. Saturday when he apparently fell asleep and the vehicle left the road. The 2002 Chevy Z71 pickup overturned on its side.

The coroner says speed and alcohol are both suspected in the accident. Three passengers in the truck were unhurt.

Keel was the second Auburn student to die in a vehicle crash in recent days.

Andrew Jackson Thurmond IV, of Hoover, died Wednesday night in a three vehicle crash on Alabama Highway 14 in Auburn.

Harris says speed and alcohol also were involved.
