Hoult had been reported missing on Aug. 22. She was last seen in Milledgeville, Ga., on Aug. 17.

Gailes said his department’s investigation was closed after Hoult was located Friday night and would not comment on other details in the case.

“I’m just glad she was located and that she’s safe,” he said. “That’s the whole objective of this — to locate individuals — and we were able to accomplish that.”
