Two people who went to a Stockbridge McDonald’s early Tuesday were after more than Big Macs.
Police say two masked men entered the 24-hour fast food place about 2 a.m., waved around guns and ordered four workers to the floor. Clayton County police spokeswoman Lt. Rebecca Brown said the suspects stole about $441 from workers’ pockets and the cash registers. They wanted money from the safe but no one had the code, she said.

Business was back to normal early Tuesday after the robbery at McDonald’s.
Brown said the robbers tried to damage the store’s video camera and a wayport machine that allows for Wi-Fi connections. However, police were able to review surveillance tape at the restaurant and were trying to get a copy of it Tuesday, she said.
There was a long line of motorists waiting in the drive-through lane but no one saw a getaway car. The McDonald’s is at Ga. 138 and I-675, a popular stopping spot for hungry travelers passing through Clayton County.
“That McDonald’s is surrounded by motels so I am wondering if they didn’t just walk to a nearby motel room,” Brown said. “It was a really bold robbery, all those customers there, even that time of morning.”
None of the workers was hurt.
Police responding to the robbery call saw one of the suspects with a gun through the drive-thru window, Clayton police Capt. Joseph Woodall said.
That officer called for backup, but Woodall said the suspects apparently were able to get out of the restaurant before other officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the building.
Police were still investigating the incident and seeking the suspects Tuesday.
