A community health forum, focused on improving health through better nutrition and physical activity, will be held in south DeKalb County on Friday.
The New Year, New You forum includes two meals, healthy giveaways and screenings for blood pressure, body mass index and more. In addition to talks about how to reduce the risks of cancer, heart attack and obesity, special programs will be held on HIV prevention and men’s health issues.
County commissioner Connie Stokes, the county board of health and Lou Walker Senior Center are sponsoring the free event.
The forum runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Walker Senior Center, 2538 Panola Road in Lithonia. For more information or to register, call the board of health at 404-294-3700.
