Riverdale police Monday morning released a composite sketch of a “person of interest” in Sunday’s shooting death of a video store owner.
Chief Samuel F. Patterson identified the victim as Souphoth Thannavongsa , 54, of Forest Park. Patterson said police are looking for three black males in connection with the robbery and shooting that happened about 1:30 p.m. at Thai Video on Ga. 85 in Riverdale.
WSB-TV reported several suspects posed as Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents and yelled ‘AFT! Get down!’ when they entered the store. Patterson told the television station the suspects robbed about two dozen patrons in the back room of the video store of jewelry, wallets and cash before shooting the store owner.
Patterson told the television station the store made most of its money in illegal activities in the back room, but declined to say what kind of activity occurred.
Patterson released a Georgia Bureau of Investigation-generated composite sketch of a “person of interest” sought in connection with the killing.
Anyone with information about the crime should call Riverdale police Capt. James Eason at 770-909-5425 or Investigator Michael Tarrant at 770-909-5430.
