Printing a recipe

The best way to print a recipe is to click the PRINT link at the top of the recipe. This formats the recipe neatly for printing and saving.

Searching a recipe

To begin all you have to do is put a search term (or terms) into the box marked RECIPE SEARCH. The box is near the top right of every page on the site. If you get no results, try fewer search words.

Once you've entered your search terms and pressed SEARCH, you'll get a results page that looks like this.

Of course, if you just enter "chicken" . . .

. . . You'll get more than 290 listings. To narrow your search, simply click on any terms in the list. For example, if you want to see chicken recipes that are main dishes only, click on MAIN DISH in the TYPE column. If you want only Italian chicken dishes, click on ITALIAN in the CUISINE column. You can even narrow by the 4-star RATING.

What you have now is a list of Italian chicken recipes that may be served as an entree. Watching calories? Display only low-fat or low-cal recipes by clicking on those checkmarks in the list. The idea is that you narrow your search every time you click on a column. So you go from chicken to Italian chicken to low-fat Italian chicken, and so on.

5:30 CHALLENGE - recipes with five or fewer ingredients that may be prepared in 30 minutes or less.

GOLDEN WHISK - Each year our food editors choose the top 10 recipes of the year and bestow on them the Golden Whisk Award. We have more than 80 so far.
