Chick-fil-A founder recovering from surgery

Chick-fil-A founder and Chairman Truett Cathy is doing well after gallbladder surgery, son Dan Cathy said this week.

Earlier this month, Truett Cathy, 87, became ill and was unable to accept in-person the King Center’s Salute to Greatness corporate award.

Dan Cathy, Chick-fil-A president and chief operating officer, accepted the accolade in his father’s absence. Truett Cathy returned home Friday from the hospital, Dan Cathy said.

“It went very well,” Dan Cathy said.
