BUILDING BLOCKS
Luxury on the rise on 12 StreetPublished on: 07/20/08
WHAT IS IT?
Luxe is a 22-story condominium building with 117 residences and 5,400 square feet of retail space on 12th Street. The distinguishing architectural feature is a glass tube that runs up one corner of the building. Amenities include a sixth-floor terrace with outdoor fireplaces, a fitness center, a pool and a club room. Beneath that is parking and the retail space. The developers, Paces Properties and Trammell Crow Residential, say their $55 million project is the first high-rise to be built on the perimeter of Piedmont Park in 20 years. Unit prices start at $250,000 and top out at around $2.5 million. About 25 percent of the units are under contract.

WHAT IMPACT WILL IT HAVE?
Luxe is part of the transformation of that part of Midtown. Nearby, the $2 billion 12th & Midtown project is under construction, which includes the 1010 Midtown condo tower. Twelfth street has been sort of a quiet artery connecting Peachtree Street and Piedmont Park, but that could change when Luxe and 1010 Midtown condo residents begin moving in.
WHEN WILL IT BE DONE?
Luxe units will be available for occupancy in October.
