Cobb County Police on Wednesday issued warrants for the man who killed a 21-year-old U.S. Marine in a wrong-way crash last weekend.

Bruce Joseph Quayle, 71, has been charged with homicide by vehicle, serious injury by vehicle, DUI, reckless driving and driving on the wrong side of the road.

Quayle, who is at Grady Memorial Hospital, has not yet been served with the warrants, police said Thursday. That is pending his release from the hospital, they said.

Police say Quayle, of Villa Rica, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-20 Saturday in his 2008 Chevy Silverado when he struck a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage head on.

The crash killed Lance Cpl. Gregory M. Suedmeyer, who was heading home to Huntsville, Ala., after a tour of duty in Iraq. The crash also seriously injured his wife, Katelyn Suedmeyer, 19, and killed a dog that was in the car.

Gregory Suedmeyer was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital after the crash, which happened at 5 p.m. near Six Flags Over Georgia. He died about two hours later.

Katelyn Suedmeyer was airlifted to Atlanta Medial Center, where she is in critical but stable condition, police said Thursday.
