It’s not very often that you see vintage ’70s model cars driving down the road.

But three cars dating back three decades were recently stolen from a Kennesaw shop.

A Pontiac Trans-Am and a Pontiac Grand Prix, both 1977 models, and a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle were all stolen from TermNet Fleet Maintenance, according to Officer Scott Luther with Kennesaw police.

The thief or thieves apparently broke a window to enter the shop, and then unlocked the garage doors, Luther said. The shop is located on South Main Street, not far from the intersection of Cherokee Street and McCollum Parkway.

The cars, owned by three different owners, are valued at $80,000 total, police said.

A reward of $25,000 is available for the safe return of the cars, as well as information regarding the suspect or suspects.

The Chevelle is shiny silver with two stripes on the hood, and the Grand Prix is black with a red pin stripe. The Trans-Am is brown, according to police.

“If you see that parked in a someone’s driveway, it will stand out,” Luther said.

Anyone with any information about the crime is asked to contact the Kennesaw Police Department at 770-422-2505.
