The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Kennesaw police say they have no motive for the Saturday morning incident in which two women were shot multiple times each  in their home.

In fact, police say they don't know whether the shooting was random or not.

"So far, some of the tips we have gotten have not worked out," police spokesman Officer Scott Luther said.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m., someone fired a slew of bullets from outside the victims' home on Ashlee Way near Rhett Drive. The shots pierced a window and injured the roommates, who are in their late 30s and early 40s.

One of the victims was able to call 911.

Police described their injuries as non-life threatening.

A witness who was walking her dog at the time said she heard the gunshots, then saw a car speed away from the home.

Luther said he did not know how many shots were fired. Police are not releasing information on the type of weapon used in the shooting.
