A leak in a gas line Thursday led to the evacuation of three buildings at a chiropractic school in Marietta.

The leak caused the closure of Life University, said Matthew Daily, a city spokesman.

"They evacuated three buildings and canceled classes the rest of the day," he said.

A spokesman for the school said Thursday evening that classes would resume Friday as scheduled.

A spokeswoman for Atlanta Gas Light said the damaged line was a 1 1/4-inch diameter service line. The spokeswoman, Tami Gerke, could not say how the underground line was cut. By late afternoon, she said it had been repaired.
