Cobb man gets 17 years for pimping teen
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A Cobb County man who forced a teenager to work as a prostitute six nights a week and advertised her online was sentenced this week to 17 years in federal prison.
Chesire Martinez Robinson of Austell, known as "Candyman," was convicted in U.S. District Court on Monday of bringing the 16-year-old from South Carolina in the fall of 2009, posting her photos online and setting up dates with men at hotels and truck stops. The photos were placed in escort and erotic services sections of various websites, prosecutors said.
Over an eight-week period, Robinson, a convicted felon, made more than $14,000, according prosecutors.
When she finally refused to be prostituted, Robinson beat her several times, according to prosecutors. He was eventually caught in an undercover sting, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Robinson, who faced life in prison on charges of sex trafficking of a minor and transporting a minor in interstate commerce for prostitution, must also pay restitution.
