A Cobb County man was arrested in Tennessee Tuesday night for allegedly shooting and killing his cousin earlier in the day at a home near Marietta, police said.

Officers were called to a home in the 100 block of Long Drive S.W. shortly after 5 p.m., Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

They found Tradae Jones, 19,  dead in the backyard. Jones had been shot at close range by a shotgun, Pierce said.

Witnesses said they saw the victim arguing with another male in the backyard. The shooter, identified as 18-year-old Jahbari Jones, fled in a blue Ford Explorer.

Pierce said Jahbari Jones was taken into custody just before 10 p.m. Tuesday west of Chattanooga, Tenn., after a vehicle pursuit by officers from the Trenton Police Department, the Dade County Sheriff's Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Marion County, Tenn., Sheriff's Department.

Jahbari Jones is being held in the Marion County Adult Detention Center.
