Benefit concert set for flood victims

A concert benefiting flood victims of Austell and Powder Springs will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday on the town square.

The event boasts food, carnival games, inflatables and a host of artists including the Piedmont Trombone Society, Spirit of Dance, Joe Gransden and his Big Band with special guest “Big Mike” Geier of “Kingsized,” Proyecto Band, A.T.A. Martial Arts Team, Orpheus Saxophone Quartet, Rob Foster and Pulsar, All Starz Fitness Team, Atlanta Swing Orchestra, Georgia Brass Band and McEachern High School Step Team. To cap off the evening, families can gather at 7 p.m. to take in a movie on the lawn, “Ice Age 3.”
Cash donations will be accepted, along with gift cards to selected stores. All proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army and Sweetwater Valley CAMP. For more information, visit www.floodof
