The 84-year-old man missing in Cobb County has been found, Cobb County Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said early Monday morning.

Loyd Hitt was last seen in Marietta on Sunday morning morning, police told the AJC Sunday night.

He was found by Bartow authorities and is "safe and sound," Pierce said.

Hitt dropped his wife off at church at East Piedmont and Canton Roads in Marietta around 9 a.m. Sunday, Cobb County police spokesman Officer Joseph Hernandez said.

“Hitt suffers from several medical issues and he may be cognitively impaired due to diabetes,” Hernandez said in a statement.
