The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Emory University School of Medicine and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta began clinical trials for a swine flu vaccine for children Wednesday.

The clinical trials will test 100 children for several weeks, officials said.

Federal health officials say they hope to start distributing a vaccine in mid-October.

Officials said they have already recruited most of the children needed for the clinical trials, but still need about 15 children ages 6 months to 36 months old. For further information on participating in the trial, call 404-727-4044.

Clinical trials for adults began Aug. 10.

Participants in the trials receive $50 per visit for about a half dozen visits.
