A dozen residents of a Forest Park apartment complex were forced from their homes Wednesday by a predawn fire.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, which Forest Park fire Chief Eddie Buckholts said was reported about 5 a.m. at the Waldorf Creek Apartments on Waldrop Drive.

The fire had extended from the first floor into the second floor and attic of the 12-unit building when firefighters arrived, Buckholts said.

Firefighters from Forest Park, Morrow and Fort Gillem were able to contain the fire to four units, he said.

The cause of the fire had not been determined, but Buckholts said there was nothing suspicious about the blaze.
