Substitute teacher says she's pregnant with student's babies

A Clayton County high school substitute teacher is pregnant with twins and claims a teenage student is the father.

Rene Chantel Frank, 27, has been charged with sexual assault of a person in school and is being held without bond, according to Clayton County jail records.

Frank, of Riverdale, told police the student's father asked her to transport the boy to Charles Drew High School, according to an arrest warrant obtained by Channel 2 Action News. It was during those trips to school that the relationship between Frank and the student progressed, she told police.

Frank admitted to police that she and the teen had sex inside her parked vehicle off-campus numerous times. She now claims she is pregnant with twins and that the 17-year-old boy is the father.

Frank is listed as a math teacher on the school's website, but police documents indicate she is unemployed. Charles White, spokesman for the school district, said Frank was a substitute teacher and not a contracted teacher.

The investigation into Frank's relationship with the student began last month, when investigators began the process for securing an arrest warrant, court records show.

A preliminary hearing in the case has been scheduled for June 21.
